SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNINGS

SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING
Issued by the Bureau of Meteorology, Brisbane
At 1.20 pm EST on Saturday the 5th of December 1998

For the Southeast Coast and Wide Bay and Burnett Districts

An area of very strong thunderstorms is currently located between Murgon and the

end of the Sunshine Coast and moving northeast. There is a good chance that
some of these thunderstorms will produce large hail or damaging wind gusts.

Other thunderstorms are now developing over the rest of the Southeast Coast and
some of these may also produce large hail or damaging wind gusts during the
afternoon.

People are advised to secure outside items, move cars under cover and seek
shelter.

The next warning will be issued at 2.20 pm.
