NSW: Man and girl caught with stolen property
SYDNEY, Dec 9 AAP - A man faces court today after an off-duty policeman spotted allegedly
stolen property in a car in Wollongong.
The sergeant noticed the vehicle at the intersection of Kembla and Burelli streets
about 12.30pm (AEDT) yesterday.
Inside, he discovered backpacks containing jewellery, mobile phones, clothing and crockery
believed to have been stolen from homes in the Lake Illawarra area, police said.
A 22-year-old man and 17-year-old female have been arrested.
The man was charged with breaking and entry and theft offences and 27 pawnbroker offences.
He was refused bail and is due to appear in Wollongong Local Court today.
The girl was charged with goods in custody and is due to appear at Port Kembla Childrens
Court on January 16, 2006.
